Trailer Home Fire Under Investigation

A residential fire leaves a family homeless and investigators looking into what caused the blaze.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office reports that when crews from Rural Fire District #3 arrived Sunday evening at about 5:30pm, they could see smoke pouring out of a trailer home at 7232 W. Colt Road.

Lt. Stan Fruits tells KSAL News that Nicholas and Kylin McKenna along with three children ages 8, 4 and 1 escaped the home without injury.

The trailer is listed as a total loss at $10,000.

The American Red Cross responded to the scene to lend assistance.

The fire remains under investigation.
