Students To Trick-Or-Treat-So-Kids-Can-Eat

KSAL Staff - October 28, 2013 9:49 pm

A group of students from Salina South High School will be out in costume, going door-to-door Tuesday evening. Students, friends, and family from the school’s drama department are planning to “trick-or-treat-so-kids-can-eat”.

The students will gather at the school, and then spread-out through town. They will be going door-to-door, not collecting candy, but rather non-perishable food items. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

Everything collected will be donated to the Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank.

Along with collecting food, those participating will have a little fun. Those in costume will be judged for best group, most original, cutest, and funniest.

The students will “trick-or-treat-so-kids-can-eat” 5:00 and 7:00 Tuesday evening.

Really maybe the county attorney should be prosecuting the parents who do not feed an take care of their childred. It is a darn shame that these legal people turn their heads the other way and choose not to enforce those laws that cover mistreatment of children.

Sad but true especially here in the mid-west. I agree if these parents can create these kids they ought to be able to provide for them. If it means one parent taking on 2 jobs then so be it. It is time to crack down on these people.
