Snow Falls Across Central Kansas

The first measurable snow of the season is falling across the area.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for several counties in extreme northwest Kansas.

The precipitation started as a mix of snow and rain. By mid-morning the snow moved further east than anticipated and was falling across Central Kansas.

Though accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible in some areas, no major driving hazards are anticipated. The snow is expected to cover mainly grassy areas and melt on the roads.

Anything remaining on the ground is likely to melt Saturday amid sunny conditions and temperatures in the 60s.
