Sheriff’s Office Exempted From Conceal Carry

KSAL Staff - December 17, 2013 12:56 pm

Sheriff Office

Saline County Commissioners approve a request by Sheriff Glen Kochanowski to exempt his office from citizens carrying concealed guns.

The sheriff said that he is not trying to exempt his entire building from concealed guns, but rather just certain areas of the building. The sheriff would like concealed guns to still be allowed in the lobby, but for there to be adequate security so as not to allow them past the lobby and back into other areas.

The sheriff said “I don’t have a problem with concealed carry, but when I am trying to secure a law enforcement center I need to take the appropriate steps to make sure everyone is safe”.

The exemption request passed 2 -1. Commissioners Jim Gile and John Price voted to approve it, while Commission Chairman Randy Duncan was against it.

The old over the hill sheriff got his way. Just because he is to old to protect himself. I believe also they should not let anyone carry over at the fairgrounds and its buildings and need to repeal that also. How stupid to let people carry over their where there are lots of innocent people. Accidents happen even with law enforcement people who carry.

Hey B. F. Ever wonder why you have to make up multiple accounts to make it seem like you have others that agree with your garbage you spew out. I will fill you in. It is because you are a unique sad individual.

If I ever find your butt there will not be enought left of you to put on a dinner plate. Let’s see how the radio station deals with this if they do not pull you off here and have to pay for the lawsuit I file against them.
