Santa Turns Back Clock

A pioneer prairie Santa is coming to Salina, to bring a touch of Christmas past to the Smoky Hill Museum.

Nona Miller, Education Coordinator with the Museum joined in on the KSAL Morning News with a look at the festive event scheduled for Saturday, December 6th from 1pm to 3pm.

“The Pioneer Santa does not look like the Santa we’ve known,” she said.

“He will have on a red coat, but he’s a little more rustic and not quite as well fed,” she said with a smile.

The free event includes carriage rides offered on a first come, first served basis.

Harpist RoJean Loucks will be on hand to play Christmas favorites while visitors enjoy refreshments.

Miller added there will also be make and take crafts for children to enjoy while supplies last.
