Salina Woman Hurt In Crash

A Salina woman is hurt in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 135.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Lori Schmidt was driving a 2002 Honda Civic headed south.

Schmidt dozed off, veered left, and hit the guardrail on the east side of the road. The car bounced off the guardrail and then struck the guardrail on the west side of the road. It came to rest in the center of both southbound lanes.

Schmidt, who was buckled up, was hurt. She was transported to the hospital in Newton.

The crash happened at noon on Saturday, 4.5 miles south of the K 61 junction, on Interstate 135 in McPherson County.
