Salina Vigil For Orlando Planned

A Monday evening event is planned in Salina to remember and honor the victims of the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

Early Sunday morning 49 people were killed and more than 50 others were wounded by a shooter in a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. The gunman was eventually killed in a shootout with police.

The North Central Chapter of Equality Kansas is hosting a candlelight vigil to honor and memorialize the victims of the night club shooting. The vigil will be at Robert Caldwell Plaza, the plaza between the City/County Building and the Salina Public Library, at 8:00 Monday evening.

People are invited to gather in solidarity, mourning, and in hope. Candles will be provided.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring PRIDE flags and other gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender  flags to the vigil.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
