A woman from Southgate, Michigan contacted Salina Police after she was allegedly scammed on Craig’s List. Denise Balogh told officers she tried to buy a car online in early July. The seller asked her to send $1,600 via Western Union. Police say the transaction was picked up at the Salina Wal-Mart on South Broadway. The woman suspected she was the victim of a scam after the seller called her back and asked for an additional $1,000 for, “insurance purposes.”

A Chevy Tahoe was broken into sometime between 2:40am and 8:40am on July 8th while it was parked on the lot at The Car Shop, 432 N Broadway. Police say a stereo system was ripped out of the dash. Loss and damage is listed at $800.
