Poacher Who Killed Swan Sought

KSAL StaffJanuary 24, 2015

Kansas game wardens are looking for a poacher who shot and killed a swan.

According to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism, a Linn County game warden is asking for the public’s assistance.  A swan was shot, and the carcass was left, near the east Pleasanton City Lake this week. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Warden Austin Jackson at 620-431-8749, or Operation Game Thief at 1-877-426-3843.

Operation Game Thief is a program that provides a toll-free line available 24/7, 365 days of the year, for citizens to report wildlife-related violations. All calls received through the OGT line are quickly relayed to the natural resource officer nearest the violation, and callers can remain anonymous.
