Pawned Saw Prompts Arrest

A pawned stolen saw, and then a disturbance with police, landed a Salina man in jail.

Police say that a Stihl brand pole saw valued at $599 was stolen on September 15th from outside a home at 902 West Elm Street where a tree crew was working. The saw was pawned later in the day for $80 at Moneylenders Pawn and Jewelry at 301 West Ash. Paperwork indicated that 54-year-old Carl Blocker Jr. had sold the saw.

Police on Monday located Blocker at his home at 831 North 4th Street, and arrested him. He allegedly resisted officers when they were taking him into custody.

Blocker could face charges that include theft,  obstructing apprehension, making false information, and theft by deception.
