A fire destroys a skid steer loader.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that around 6pm on Friday night, Fire District #2 responded to the 10900 block of S. Holmes Road after a Caterpillar skid steer caught fire.

Deputies say owner, Bruce Spare was working with a pile of downed trees when the machine caught on fire.

Loss is listed at $18,000.

There were no injuries.
