Wow looks like our city manager is more ignorant then I once believed. Why would you pick someone with no police chief experience and who has been in retirement from the Columbia Mo. police force to be chief of police in Salina? Then reading that he placed 7th out of 7 on the Cedar Rapids evaluation a year ago means we are not getting a top professional.

Good luck, sir. I look forward to seeing new improvements to the department. After a bit of Google stalking, he appears to be a viable candidate. Give the gentleman some time, and support, and see what direction he takes things.

How come the names of other candidates were not posted by the City Manager. Seems other communitities post names of all that in the top ten or less. I guess with the rest of these so called investigators retiring or jumping ship one might say at lease this new guy can hire who he wishes which may be a good thing. Time will tell I guess it can’t get any worst. Now if the city manager would move on to another town we might be seeing some good changes for Salina.
