Meth, Loaded Gun Found

A Salina couple is arrested for drugs after stopping for gas.

A police officer on patrol recognized a Salina man who was wanted on a warrant for making a criminal threat, as he pulled into the gas pumps at the Casey’s Convenience Store at 215 W. Crawford at about 9:40am Tuesday.

Police say 28-year-old Alexander Reyna tried to empty his pockets when he was approached by the officer. Police then found a glass meth pipe in his pocket and 2.4 grams of methamphetamine bagged up in the vehicle along with other numerous baggies and glass pipes.

Police also arrested 24-year-old Dezaree McQueary of Salina who was a passenger in the car.

Police allege she stepped out the vehicle while Reyna was being detained and was arrested after a loaded .380 semiautomatic handgun fell out of her sweatshirt pocket. Both are facing charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

McQueary is also charged with criminal possession of a firearm.
