Man Hurt In Accidental Shooting

A man was hurt in an accidental shooting in Central Salina Friday evening.

At around 5:00 in the evening, first responders were called to the report of an accidental shooting in the 200 block of E. Ellsworth Street. They found a man suffering from a bullet injury to his hand.

Police Lt. Russ Lamer told KSAL News at the scene that a man was handling a small calibre handgun inside a home at 228 E. Ellsworth when it discharged. The man was struck in the hand.

Lamer says that the bullet did not penetrate through the house to the outside.

The man was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health to be treated for his hand injury. No one else was hurt in the incident.
