A Salina man is arrested after allegedly trying to cash a couple of stolen checks.

Police say that 30-year-old William Kelley tried unsuccessfully to cash a $762 check at a UMB Bank branch in Salina. Later that same day, he unsuccessfully tried to cash a $487 check at a Payday Loan location in Salina. Both checks belonged to Jack Parr and Associates, and were reported stolen in a burglary.

Kelley was arrested on Wednesday. He could face charges that include two counts of forgery and two counts attempted theft.
