Love and Encouragement in Recipe to Help Taryn

Family and friends continue to rally around a Central High Senior who is battling cancer.

With encouragement baked in to every cake and cookie made, organizers are preparing for a fund raiser to help 17-year-old Taryn Edwards of Salina who was diagnosed with Large B-Cell Lymphoma in March.

Organizer Anna Parker tells KSAL News that the upcoming event can help fill in some of the financial gaps for the family, “Sometimes Taryn is in ICU for a week and the mother can’t work,” she said.

“These fund raisers actually help her pay some of the bills, or give them a little extra.”

Large B-Cell Lymphoma is a cancer that attacks the lymph nodes and the white blood cells, responsible for producing antibodies.

The “Love 4 Taryn Chili Feed Bake Sale and Raffle” will be held on Saturday, December 7th from 2pm to 6pm at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand Ave. in Salina. Cost is $5.

Donations can be made to the Love4Taryn Fund at Bank VI on South Ohio as well.
