KWU Preparing Christmas by Candlelight Concerts, Dinner

Kansas Wesleyan University presents Christmas by Candlelight, “Hear the Angels Sing, Christ is Born” on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, in Sams Chapel, in the Hall of the Pioneers.

Heralded as one of the longest running traditions at Kansas Wesleyan, Christmas by Candlelight showcases the vocal and instrumental talents of KWU together with the voices of local high school choirs in a joyful musical celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

There will be two performances featuring the KWU Philharmonic Choir, the Wesleyan Chorale and the KWU String Orchestra – at 3 p.m. with Salina South and Salina Central High School Choirs, and at 7:30 p.m., with Southeast of Saline and Sacred Heart High School Choirs.

Between performances, enjoy a traditional holiday dinner served at 5:30 p.m. in the Hauptli Student Center, in the Student Activities Center. Rebecca Copley, director of Vocal Studies, will sing Christmas favorites. Tickets to this dinner are $20 and include reserved seating at the 7:30 p.m. performance.

Concert tickets are free, but reservations are strongly recommended. Register for concert and dinner tickets online at www.kwu.edu/Christmas2015.

All reserved tickets requested by November 25 will be mailed. Requests received after November 25 will be processed and available for pickup in the Stanton Conference Room, across from Sams Chapel, 90 minutes prior to the performance.

Those who have additional questions are invited to call the Christmas by Candlelight Hotline at 785-833-4344; messages will be returned within 24 hours, Monday through Friday.
