Items Stolen From Car At Truck Stop

Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle parked outside a Salina truck stop.

Police say that 41-year-old Robert Gaston from Eldorado reported a theft from his 1999 Ford Taurus.

Gaston reports that he parked his car outside the Bosselman Travel Center at 1944 North 9th Street at 1:45 Wednesday afternoon while he went inside and dined at Grandma Max’s restaurant. When he returned to the car at 2:20, a duffel bag and a backpack were missing from inside it.

According to Gaston the car was locked when he left it. But when he returned, all four doors were unlocked. Police say there is no sign of forced entry.

Total loss, including a Nexus tablet computer that was inside one of the bags, is estimated at $697.
