The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and the Saline Police Department are working together in an investigation into an early morning head-on crash in which alcohol may have been a factor.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that the crash happened at around 4:30 in the morning on North Ohio Street, near Stimmel Road. It was near the city / county line.

Salina Police tell KSAL News that a full-sized pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Patrick Driscoll was headed south. The truck swerved left of center and struck head-on an oncoming SUV driven by 55-year-old Song Horton.

Both were transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center. Horton was later transferred to a Wichita hospital.

Soldan says that his agency is investigating the possibility that alcohol played a factor in the crash.
