Good Kansas Lake Forecast For Holiday Weekend

Large crowds are expected at lakes around Kansas this 4th of July weekend.

According to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism there’s good news, and more good news, for one of the biggest outdoor weekends of year. While rain can sometimes put a damper on outdoor activities, rainfall received in June over much of Kansas provided a welcome respite to the long-term drought. And while inflows to some reservoirs increased, there appears to be no potential impacts on boating and fishing activities.

The Fourth of July Holiday forecast looks dry.

The following is a list of lake levels this week:

Cedar Bluff – 22 feet below conservation pool, but the lake level had risen more than 3 feet as of July 1.

Glen Elder – 1 foot below conservation pool.
