Girl Arrested in Knife Attack

A 17-year-old female is arrested after allegedly attacking a Salina man with a knife.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, officers interviewed 28-year-old Cory Lowe at Salina Regional Health Center Sunday morning.

Lowe told police he woke up in his motel room at the Village Inn, 453 S. Broadway, to find 17-year-old Taren McGaha slashing at him with a 3-inch long folding knife.

Lowe was treated for a cut to his throat and face as well as cuts to his hands and left wrist.

Police arrested McGaha at her home, 604 Washington, around 4:30am Sunday and charged her with aggravated battery.

Police say the two were acquaintances.
