Felon Impersonates Undercover Cop

A man impersonating an undercover police officer is arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Bradley D. Sanders of Salina, after he allegedly tried to sell three handguns at a bar Thursday afternoon.

Staff at Boomers Sports Bar and Grill, 116 S. Broadway, contacted police after Sanders told a barkeep he was an undercover cop and wanted to sell some guns.

The bartender followed Sanders to the parking lot, where he then displayed three .22 caliber Ruger handguns in his car’s trunk.

Police used a description of the vehicle and stopped Sanders around 4:40pm at the intersection of Schilling and Melanie Lane.

Sanders has been charged with false impersonation and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.
