Driver Suffers Broken Ribs in Crash

A medical issue may have led to an injury accident yesterday.

Witnesses told Salina Police they saw a driver miss a bend in the road, jump a curb near K-Mart and hit a tree.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, 29-year-old Doris Thrush of Salina was driving a minivan westbound in the 1300 block of West South Street just before 8am Monday morning when she crossed Broadway traveling between 40 to 50 miles per hour.

The woman was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with injuries to her ribs and sternum.
