Couple Battered During Home Invasion

Salina Police are investigating an alleged home invasion in which an elderly couple were both battered with a pistol.

Police say that early Saturday morning, at 3:22 AM, officers were dispatched to 1700 N 5th Street. An elderly couple were rushed to the hospital, following what authorities are calling a “home invasion”.

One of the suspects, described as a white female with blond hair between 5’6 and 5’8, knocked on their door asking to use a phone. A male subject with his face covered then forced his way into the house by striking both the older gentleman and his wife over the head with a hand gun.

The intruders proceeded to take the resident’s phones, wallets and several credit cards. Along with those items, the resident’s 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was taken by the burglars to flee the scene.

Police later located the vehicle in Wichita, KS with three men.

Police are in an ongoing investigation on whether any of the three male suspects that were arrested on different warrants was a part of the aggravated burglary. Charges in connection with the case could included aggravated burglary and aggravated battery.

As far as the elderly couple, the gentleman refused any treatment from the hospital and the lady was treated for contusions on her head and released soon after their arrival.
