One person is hurt when a car crashes into a large sign in west Salina late Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 3:30, when a driver lost control of his car in a convenience store parking lot. The car crashed into the sign at Rod’s Shell convenience store at 1717 West Crawford.

The car suffered extensive damage. Details were not immediately available on what caused the crash.

The driver, whose name was not immediately available, was transported by EMS to the hospital.
