Candidate Files to Run For County Clerk

A long-time Saline County employee plans to run for county clerk.

Jamie Doss has announced that she filed by petition to run as a Republican candidate for Saline County Clerk. Doss has been employed at Saline County for 18 years. She was appointed to Saline County Deputy Clerk/Election Officer by Saline County Clerk Don Merriman in 2011.

Doss has completed coursework for the Kansas Certified County Clerk (CCC) designation and will begin working toward a Master County Clerk (MCCC) credential this year. She is also a 2015 graduate of Leadership Salina and has completed the Kansas Association of Counties’ Institute of Excellence Foundations in County Government Leadership Program. In 2015, Doss completed the MiniMPA (Masters in Public Administration) program at the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs, Wichita State University. Additional education involves courses sponsored by the Kansas Department of Revenue Property Valuation Department and the Kansas Division of Accounts and Reports.

Doss recently served on the committee with the Kansas Secretary of State’s office to establish a Request for Proposal and review submissions by vendors for the statewide Election Voter Registration System (ELVIS).

A native of Saline County, Mo., Doss has lived in Saline County, Kan. for 21 years. Previous to her appointment as Deputy County Clerk, she worked 14 years in the Saline County Appraiser’s office.

Doss has two children, Levi, 18; and Ryann, 16.
