Burglary Arrest

A Salina man is facing charges of burglary and damage to property after officers responded to an alarm at the water well station near Indian Rock Park at 1500 Gypsum Sunday morning around 1am.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 20-year-old Daniel C. Puckett was arrested early Sunday after police found him nearby wearing a black stocking cap and work gloves.

Officers also located bolt cutters and a crow bar close by and allege he cut the lock on the door and entered the structure.

Further investigation led police to damage at the concession stand at Bill Burke Park on East Crawford.

Police say Puckett cut a lock on the roll-up window and attempted to enter the building but did not gain access.

Officers say two 16-year-old boys who were not identified were also with Puckett and he is now facing additional charges of contributing to the misconduct of a child.
