“Shop Small” on Small Business Saturday

KSAL Staff - November 24, 2017 1:00 pm

Shoppers can make a big difference in their local communities by supporting Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday in next in line. It is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, the traditional start of the holiday shopping season.

In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help businesses with their most pressing need — getting more customers. The day encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The single day has grown into a powerful movement, and more people are taking part than ever before.

While Small Business Saturday is highlighted as a special day when we can show our support as a nation for small business owners and our communities, the Shop Small Movement is a year-round campaign to celebrate and support small businesses every day.
