A backfire preceded a fire that destroyed a truck and its contents.
According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, a 1977 Ford F 150 pickup truck was headed to the Saline County landfill Friday afternoon. The truck backfired, and stopped at the intersection of Water Well and Halstead Roads. The driver realized the truck was on fire as he went to restart it.
The truck and its contents were totally destroyed. There were no injuries.
