The winter season is heating up for the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes.

And so does the Kansas Wesleyan Coaches Show, which takes place every Monday from 6 to 7 pm, live at Burger Theory inside the Holiday Inn just past Lowe’s. Come in for the $6.99 Build-Your-Own-Burger Special that includes a side. Various members of the Wesleyan athletic department will be there.

Kansas Wesleyan men’s and women’s basketball teams picked up a doubleheader sweep over Ottawa going into Thanksgiving break. The men handled the Braves 84-69. KWU is now 2-1 in the KCAC and travels to St. Mary on Wednesday and Bethel on Saturday. Head coach Anthony Monson recapped last week and also talked about turkey and Clash of Clans. Assistant coaches Charlie Wallrapp and Tony Stennett joined coach Monson as well.

The women’s basketball squad held on for a 74-70 win over Ottawa. The Coyotes improved to 3-0 in the conference while going to 4-0 inside Mabee Arena. Head coach Ryan Showman chatted about the action last week while previewing the games this week.

The wrestling team is just getting warmed up. The team lost to Central Baptist 24-18 and Bacone College 43-8. Taylor Moeder is off to a hot start. He’s 10-0, 2-0 in duals as he breezed through the Southwest Scuffle in Dallas at 141 pounds. Head coach Matt Oney joined the show to recap the start of the year.
