A Salina teen is in the Junction City juvenile detention facility for stealing and damaging a vehicle.

A Salina man called the police yesterday to report that after he lent his 2004 white Ranger to 17-year-old Jesse Wray, the boy never returned it. The vehicle hadn’t been returned for several days.

Police found the vehicle at 2:56PM at the Airliner Motel at 781 North Broadway with the bed spray painted black, the passenger side window shattered and the driver’s side lock damaged.

The vehicle was recovered with a stolen tag that belonged to another Salina man who was not aware the vehicle had been taken.

The total damage cost is estimated at $1,300.
