Woman Allegedly Leaves a 5,3,1-Year Old Alone

A Salina mother is facing a charge of endangering a child after she allegedly left 3 children alone at home to run an errand.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, officers were called to the Kwik Shop at the corner of Crawford and Fairdale after a 5-year-old girl walked in to look for her mother just after 11pm Monday night.

The clerk contacted police, who took the girl home across the street to the Park Lane Townhomes, 657 Fairdale and found two other children inside without an adult present.

Police were able to find a phone number and called 22-year-old Jessica Segura.

The children; ages 5, 3 and 1 were placed into protective custody while Segura was arrested on 1 count of child endangerment.
