A low scoring first quarter set the tone for a nail-bitter, the Vikings won 31-29. The Vikings in quarter number 2 scored the first bucket and the last bucket to go into the locker room with a 12-12 tie. They got a little edge after 3 quarters 22-18 and took a 25-18 lead with the first bucket of the 4th quarter. But Lyons went on an 8-0 run to take a 26-25 lead late 4th quarter. From there both teams possessions were extremely important and on a poor shooting night, Blake Heble’s bucket with 7 seconds left finally found the bottom of the net to give the Vikings a 31-29 lead. Then they held of Lyons last possession to get their first win in the opening round of the Sterling Invitational. Vikings were led in scoring by Cade Schneider with 9 points and Cole Brumbaugh with 8. They will face Beliot on Thursday in the 4:30 contest.
