Suspects Try to Sell Guitar, Flute

Police make two arrests in a burglary, theft case.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, two suspects attempted to sell a stolen Fender guitar and Pearl flute at SM Hanson Music in Salina.

Police say staff at the music store had been tipped off by the victim of the crime, who called area music stores in late July to let them know the instruments could show up at their counter.

Employees at SM Hanson called police after 19-year-old Joshua Gormely and 18-year-old Grant Bond tried to sell the stolen instruments – but fled the store and left them both behind.

Police used a tag number on a vehicle to track both males down.

The two are now facing burglary and theft charges.

The instruments along with some jewelry and a .22 rifle had been taken from a home in the 1500 block of N. 5th back on July 28th.
