KSAL StaffJuly 15, 2013

Upon the passing of his father, Andrew Charles began receiving Social Security checks in order to support himself as a juvenile. Police say that since the beginning of this year, the money from those checks has not been going where it is supposed to.

Allegedly, Patrick Wirtz, Charles’ guardian has been taking and cashing the Social Security checks meant for Charles and keeping the money for himself. Since the beginning of the year, five checks stolen were each for $770, totaling in $3,850 in losses for Charles.

Now facing five counts of forgery, five cts. of theft and deception and five cts. of theft of property and services, Wirtz has been arrested.
