Pittsburg State clears the air over smoking on campus

Pittsburg State University is getting closer to snuffing out smoking.

The Joplin GlobeĀ  reports that President Steve Scott says there’s “clearly an interest” in accepting a task force recommendation that the campus go tobacco free. Scott says the administration wants a conversation to begin about how the policy can be advanced.

A student referendum completed in the spring of 2012 suggested 77 percent approval of such a policy.
