A Salina woman is taking home “Santa’s Stash”.

26-year-old Trista Ollendieck was among 22 finalists who gathered at the Salina Central Mall Saturday for the grand finale of Salina Media Group’s “Santa’s Stash” event.

“Santa’s Stash” was a locked box full of cash. The box was on display at various locations around Salina. At each location, guesses of how much money is in the box were taken. The closest guess at each location became a finalist.

Ollendieck tells KSAL News that she became a finalist after placing a guess while “Santa’s Stash” was at Genesis Health Club in Salina.

At the event Saturday, each finalist had the opportunity to change their guess. Fortunately for Ollendieck, she changed her guess. Her new guess of $2,315.94 was exactly how much was in the box.

Ollendieck says “I’m just really excited, I’m expecting in April and now I’ll be able to make some good purchases for the new baby”. She added “I’m sure that I’ll spend a little here at the mall today, though!”

Major sponsors of “Santa’s Stash” included the Salina Central Mall, First Bank Kansas, and the Salina Media Group of radio stations.
