A Salina woman dies at a Wichita hospital following a head-on crash Friday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, 81-year-old Cora Allen died Saturday night at Wesley Medical Center.

Her husband, 86-year-old Dean Allen along with Sherry Armstrong, 45 and Mark Armstrong,52, both of Solomon were all transported to Salina Regional Health Center following the accident near the intersection of Magnolia and Simpson Road.

Saline County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Trostle tells KSAL News that the Allen’s car was headed east on Magnolia. The driver activated his turn signal, and went to make a left hand turn to head north on Simpson Road.

He swerved into the lane of oncoming traffic as he went to make the turn and crashed head-on into an oncoming GMC pickup truck.

Trostle says that neither driver was buckled up, but both passengers were.

The crash happened just after 3:30 Friday afternoon.
