A Salina man is facing a sex charge in connection with a case involving a 14-year-old girl.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that 22-year-old Jerry M. Dix, 2652 Belmont, was arrested on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He is accused of having consensual sex with the 14-year-old, who gave birth to a child.

Sheriff Kochanowski says a probe began as a Salina Police case, then information gathered moved it over to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Dix turned himself in on Thursday.

The crime allegedly occurred in a vehicle that was parked in the county.
