The Salina campus of Kansas State University is upgrading its degree program in digital media.

Campus dean and CEO Verna Fitzsimmons says the school has offered an associate degree in digital media for five years. She says it will be offered as a bachelor’s degree track starting this fall to meet demand.

Associate professor Bill Genereux describes digital media as “the intersection of art and computing,” involving skills that he says are highly sought in the working world.

Topics in the program include photography, animation, graphics, game programming and website, database and computer technology.

Undergraduate enrollment at the Salina campus is reported at roughly 1,000 students.
