Drowsy Driver Hurt In Crash

A drowsy driver is hurt in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 70.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 70-year-old William McKinley fom Goddard was driving a pickup truck headed west when he drifted off the right hand side of roadway and entered the north ditch after falling asleep. McKinley woke up and attempted to steer back onto the road, over-corrected, re-entered the north ditch and overturned.

McKinley, who was buckled up, was hurt. He was transported to a Wichita hospital.

The crash happened at 2:40 Friday afternoon 1.1 miles west of the K 14 exit in Ellsworth County.
