UPDATE: Parent Miscommunication Prompts Abduction Report

Miscommunication between two parents leads to a scramble Wednesday morning to find a child who was reported abducted.

Law enforcement was searching for a child who was reported abducted from Solomon Elementary School. The abductor was believed to be the second grade student’s mother.

After an attempt to locate was sent out, a Salina Police Officer located the suspect vehicle headed west on Interstate 70. The officer stopped the vehicle at the Flying J truck stop at Ohio and Interstate 70.

Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman tells KSAL News that the case turned out to be the result of poor communication between the child’s mother and father. He says that no charges will be filed.
