Police officers responded to a south Salina home after a cell phone was smashed during an argument.

According to Captain Jim Feldman, officers were sent to a home in the 1300 block of Crescent around 2am on Sunday to investigate the disturbance.

Police say 41-year-old Derrick Sanders was intoxicated and grabbed a phone from a 38-year-old female roommate and smashed it on the floor.

Damage is estimated at $150. He’s now facing charges that could include domestic battery and damage to property.
