Wichita Soybean Plant Closed after Fire

Local farmers are closely watching, waiting for the long-term impact of the Cargill soybean processing plant fire in Wichita this week.

After Monday night’s fire, the plant notified drivers that trucks bringing more soybeans should “stay home” until further notice.

The remaining schedule for this week simply says “TBD,” leaving a lot of anxious farmers waiting for updates. Right now, there is no indication as to when the plant will be up and running again.
