KSAL Staff - July 16, 2013 7:22 am

A woman is hurt in a single vehicle crash involving a deer Monday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Sharleen Francis of Goessell was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt south on U.S. 81 Highway. A deer coming from the east ran into the passenger side of the vehicle shattering the window.

A passenger in the car was hurt. 66-year-old Diane Loewen of Goessell was transported to the hospital in Minneapolis.

Troopers say that everyone in the vehicle was properly buckled up.

The crash happened at 7:48 Monday evening on U.S. 81 Highway in Ottawa County about 10 miles north of Minneapolis.

Was the deer hurt????LOL… Now if they were driving SOUTH how could a deer coming from the EAST run into the passenger side of the car???? Very poor reporting of the accident by the Highway Patrol.

Depending on where at on the road they were, they could be headed South on that road but at a part that it curves around . . . . NAH not even then!! lol But honestly, I hadn’t even noticed the slip up until reading your comment. Guess that shows how awake I am this morning
