Who’s Gonna Call

Jeff Garretson - October 23, 2015 12:43 pm

Phones will be ringing around Salina beginning Monday, as a research company conducts a survey about USD 305.

Superintendent Bill Hall tells KSAL News that they hired Midwest Research Associates of Kansas City to gather the comments.

“We want to find out what folks think we do well and what are some areas we need to improve on,” Hall said.

According to the district the company will be contacting a sample of registered Salina voters by telephone on both landline and mobile devices to ask a range of questions including services, communications and early childhood education.

“It’s the second year of our Chromebook initiative at our two high schools so we have a question on there about how that has gone,” Hall added.

USD 305 says the responses will be kept confidential and will help shape future priorities for the district.

A summary of the survey will be made public on the district’s website sometime in early 2016.

Evidently Hall likes to waste money on things like this. Maybe he needs to get out in the public more and attend events where the everyday citizen goes. Or how about going to some coffee spots around town I am sure he can get an ear full if he would ask a question. My question to him would be why he has all these people working in the school system that are not needed. Why does he have as many assistants as he does and finally does he think its right for the school budget to be higher than the city and county budgets added together? Most of us will not receive a call as my understanding is there has been given lists to this company to call where there will be all positive things said.
