A high speed pursuit that reached speeds of 99 mph on Old 81 Highway ends with an abandoned truck found in Salina.

According to Saline County Sheriff-elect Roger Soldan, a deputy turned around to follow a truck that matched a stolen vehicle’s description on Sunday afternoon around 1:50pm on Old 81.

A suspect described as a white male driving a 1987 Toyota pickup eluded officers from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol and Salina Police Department by winding through miles of Salina from Harsh Street to Overhill Street.

The truck was later found abandoned in the 700 block of N.3rd.
