Trio Arrested in Counterfeit Bill Operation

Police make three arrests in connection to a counterfeit bill operation in Salina. Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that the public’s help aided the investigation.

“We were able to identify these individuals through the information received from the public and also from the video footage to help confirm that these were the people who were responsible, ” Sweeney said.

Officers used a warrant at 915 E. Ellsworth on Wednesday and arrested 57-year-old Kim Ringer, 30-year-old Jerry Huckabey and 34-year-old Emily Meyer, all of Salina.

All three are facing felony theft and conspiracy to commit felony theft charges.

Police say they printed and used the fake $20 bills at convenience stores on numerous occasions between July 27th and July 30th.

Captain Sweeney added that officers did not locate the equipment used to copy the money, “But they were using a high quality printer we believe to produce these counterfeit bills,” he said.
