KSAL Staff - August 7, 2015 10:22 am

A thief has stolen multiple items from a California woman while she was staying at a Salina hotel.

According to police, a 40-year-old woman from Mission Viejo, California,  was staying at the Holiday Inn Express at 755 W. Diamond Drive in Salina. Sometime between 11:00 Wednesday night and 8:00 Thursday morning, numerous items were stolen from her unlocked 2013 Honda Pilot in the parking lot.

Missing items include a Dell laptop computer, a Kindle Fire,  2 pairs of Merrell women’s shoes, 2 hydration packs, a backpack containing state park collectible coins, a white trash bag full of souvenirs, and a blue bag with various electronic cords in it.

Total loss is estimated at $2,950.

Really the police believed this story. Anyone from California knows they need to lock their cars. Sounds like an insurance claim to me.
