An anonymous and threatening note found on Tuesday has prompted an increased police presence at McPherson Schools and in the City of McPherson.

According to a message from the McPherson Police Department issued via social media,  an anonymous and threatening note was found in a McPherson High School restroom. The note did not specifically threaten individual students.

School officials and the McPherson Police Department investigated the contents of the note. The cooperative investigation yielded no credible threats at this time.

McPherson Police Chief Robert McClarty encourages all students and parents to be aware of their surroundings and vigilant in their observations. As always, if you see something, say something. Report any suspicious behavior to McPherson County 911.

There is an increased law enforcement presence both on patrol in the city and at McPherson area schools.
